Operasyon sa NAIA, suspendido dahil sa masamang panahon

Isinuspinde ang flight at ground operations sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport ngayong Linggo ng hapon dahil sa masamang panahon, ayon sa Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) sa isang advisory.

Sinabi ng MIAA, ang suspensyon ng operasyon ay dulot ng isang lightning red alert na inisyu ng PAGASA ng alas-2:56 ng hapon.

“The alert is a safety measure taken to prevent an untoward incident from happening when lightning is prevalent in the immediate area and may endanger personnel, passengers, and even flight operations,” pahayag ng MIAA.

Batay sa latest bulletin, ayon sa PAGASA, “Tropical Depression Ester accelerated northward over the sea west of Okinawa Island but continues to enhance the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.”

Sa kanilang 11AM weather bulletin, sinabi ng PAGASA na ang Bagyong Ester ay nasa layong 915 kilometro northeast ng extreme northern Luzon ng alas-10:00 ng umaga.

Habang nasa maximum sustained winds ng 45 km/h malapit sa sentro, gustiness na aabot ng hanggang 55 km/h, at central pressure ng 1000 hPa.
