Pinasalamatan ni Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Caprio ang kanyang ama na si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte nitong Linggo sa pagsuporta sa kanyang vice presidential bid.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa endorsement ni Pangulong Duterte sa aking kandidatura as vice president,” ani Duterte-Carpio sa isang ambush interview sa Pandi, Bulacan.
Ipinagmalaki naman ng pangulo ang mga kakayahan ng kanyang anak sa ginanap na rally ng Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) noong Biyernes.
“I’m going to retire but my daughter is running for vice president. If you think that… Actually, this is the first time that I’m using my name as a father, for my daughter. It’s because we’ve had issues, but a child is a child. So… Inday is very good, to be totally honest with you. Inday is very hard working”, pahayag ni Duterte sa salitang Ingles at Bisaya.
“But Inday is really very strict. You can’t crowd around waiting for her, you will be called one by one instead. But she will talk to you. And that’s good, that’s actually good. She can serve people in an orderly manner,” dagdag pa ng pangulo.
Gayunman, nanatiling neutral ang pangulo sa presidential race sa kabila ng pag-endorso ng kanyang Partido na PDP-Laban kay dating senador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., running mate ng kanyang anak.
