Kandidato sa 2028, popondohan ng POGO

Hinimok ni House prosecution adviser Ace Barbers ang mga law enforcement at financial intelligence agencies na imbestigahan ang posibleng paggamit ng ilegal na POGO funds sa pagpopondo sa mga kandidato sa 2028 elections kapalit ng proteksiyon sa mga kriminal na operasyon.

“If these reports are true, we must act now. Trace the money, identify the financiers, expose their political contacts and build airtight cases against anyone involved in this scheme,” ani Barbers, kasunod ng babala ni Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. spokesperson Winston Casio na maaaring pondohan ng mga natitirang ilegal na POGO operations ang mga kandidato.

Nanawagan sa Philippine National Police (PNP), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC), Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) at Commission on Elections (Comelec) na magtulungan sa pagtunton sa mga ilegal na pondo at posibleng ugnayan ng organisadong krimen at political financing.

Kabilang sa mga krimeng iniugnay sa ilegal na POGO ang money laundering, human trafficking, kidnapping, online scams at katiwalian.
