Ex-Leyte Gov. Petilla, patay sa edad 88 dahil sa COVID-19

Pumanaw na ang dating gobernador ng Leyte na si Atty. Leopoldo “Polding” Enriquez Petilla sa atake sa puso matapos ang komplikasyon sa COVID-19 sa edad na 88.

Ito ang kinumpirma sa Facebook ng daughter-in-law niyang si Palo, Leyte Mayor Ann Petilla, na ang dating gobernador ay pumanaw na nitong Lunes, Setyembre 6.

“As we continue to observe precautions to protect ourselves and our loved ones against this disease, still we lose them at the time we least expect them to leave, even before we are ready to let them go,” ani ng alkalde.

“We love you forever, Papa Polding. We will always miss you,” sabi pa ni Mayor Petilla.

Nag-isyu naman ang gobyerno ng Palo ng isang resolution kaugnay sa pakikidalamhati ng lugar sa biglang pagkamatay ni Atty. Polding.

“It is proper to officially inform the people about the untimely death and give honor to the death of Governor Attorney Leopoldo Enriquez Petilla,” ayon sa order ng Palo government.

Nakasaad din sa direktiba ng EO na ang national flag na nasa Palo Municipal Hall na itaas ng half-mast mula Setyembre 6 hanggang 7, kasabay ng pakikiramay sa namayapang dating gobernador.
