Ex-CJ Bersamin, bagong executive secretary ni P-BBM

Napili ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. si dating Chief Justice Lucas Bersamin bilang bagong executive secretary.
Ayon kay Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, nanumpa na si Bersamin sa harap ni Pangulo Marcos ngayong Martes.
Sinabi ni Cruz-Angeles na napili si Bersamin bilang bagong executive secretary base ito sa pagtitiwala o trust.
“Sinasabi ng ating Pangulo he is well qualified to be the executive secretary. Having put in so many years in the judiciary, he has the necessary legal background and the ability to deal with paper work,” pahayag ni Cruz-Angeles sa press conference ngayong Martes.
“Plus of course he is trusted and well-qualified of this,” saad pa ni Cruz-Angeles.
Binanggit naman ni Cruz-Angeles na walang siyang impormasyon kung kailan inalok ng Pangulo ang posisyon kay Bersamin.
Sa panahon ng kanyang pagsisilbi bilang top magistrate, si Bersamin ay na-involve sa rulings kaugnay sa mga high profile at controversial cases.
Si Bersamin ay bumotong pabor sa paglibing ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Sr. sa Libingan ng mga Bayani gayundin, sa patuloy na detention ng oposisyon na si Senator Leila De Lima.
Bahagi rin siya ng unanimous vote na nagdedeklara ng Priority Development Assistance Fund o ang pork barrel bilang unconstitutional.
Nagtapos sa University of the East College of Law, si Bersamin ay itinalaga bilang Quezon City regional trial court judge noong 1986, na-promote sa Court of Appeals noong 2003, at na-appoint sa Supreme Court noong 2009 ni dating Pangulong Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
Si Bersamin ay pumalit sa posisyon na binakante ni Atty. Vic Rodriguez na nag-resign bilang executive secretary noong Setyembre 17.
Gayunman, si Rodriguez sa kasalukuyan ay Presidential Chief of Staff.
