Inatasan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang Department of Justice (DOJ) na imbestigahan ang mga alegasyong korupsiyon sa lahat ng ahensiya ng gobyerno kabilang na ang Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.
Saad ni P-Duterte, “I hope all government workers, officials are listening. This is a memorandum from me to Secretary Menardo Guevarra. The subject is investigate all allegations of corruption in the entire government. All.”
Aniya, maaaring sampahan ng kaso ang sinumang opisyal o empleyado na magiging sangkot sa mali o ilegal na gawain.
Ayon din kay P-Duterte, ang itinalaga niyang task force na mag-iimbestiga ng mga anomalya ay tututukan muna ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Aniya, “This time, we will look into every department. But upon my request, focus on corruption in the DPWH.
“I have nothing against Secretary Villar. [He’s] one of the hardworking (people in government) and he has many accomplishments. But you know, accomplishments alone, to me, should not suffice.
“Secretary Villar, it’s not his job to be running after crooks but it behooves upon me to see to it that corruption stops. We’re expanding investigation to [Department of] Agriculture with special focus on DPWH.”
