Nakipagtagpo ang Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) kasama ang iba't ibang stakeholders sa Sulu upang itala ang mga proyektong kalsada at iba pang imprastruktura na magpapalakas sa agrikultura at ekonomiya ng lalawigan.
Binigyang-diin ni DPWH Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain na nakatuon ang pulong sa mga diskusyon at pagsasalitan ng ideya, na nagbibigay daan sa publiko na magtanong hinggil sa saklaw ng proyekto habang ito ay nasa yugto ng pagsusuri ng feasibility at detailed engineering design (DED).
Sinabi niya na nasa ilalim ang mga proyektong imprastruktura ng Improving Growth Corridors in Mindanao Road Sector Project (IGCMRSP) na sinusuportahan ng Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Kabilang sa mga proyektong ito ang P1.64 bilyong Paticul - Jolo - Indanan Coastal Bypass Road (na may viaduct structure at approach roads) sa Indanan at ang P8.22 bilyong Sulu Circumferential Road (na may mga exemption) sa Lalawigan ng Sulu.
“The projects mark the beginning of an effort towards unwavering peace and significant advancement as these projects heal the scars on the hearts of the Moro Muslim People of the South,” saad ni DPWH Unified Project Management Office (UPMO)-Roads Management Cluster 2 Project Director Sharif Madsmo H. Hasim.
