‘Di raw dapat tulungan ang mga fugitive… Roque, nabahala sa pahayag ni Castro, nang-call out

Naghayag ng pagkabahala si dating Presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque sa naging pahayag ni Palace Press Officer at Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Usec. Claire Castro na ang mga ‘alleged fugitive’ na tulad niya ay hindi dapat bigyang-pansin ng mga diplomatic agent ng Embahada ng Pilipinas.

Aniya, “I categorically affirm that no Philippine diplomat is legally or ethically permitted to refuse assistance to a Filipino citizen based solely on unproven allegations.”

Dagdag pa niya, “I call on Undersecretary Castro and all public officials to exercise careful consideration, accuracy, and respect for the rule of law when speaking about the rights of Filipinos abroad.”

Binigyang-diin din niya na entitled ang bawat Pilipino sa consular assistance at protection kahit anuman ang alegasyon tungkol sa kanila at taliwas umano sa batas at polisiya ng bansa ang naging pahayag nito.

“Public remarks of this nature undermine the credibility and integrity of our Foreign Service and erode the trust of overseas Filipino communities. They also risk exposing the State to legal and diplomatic repercussions,” saad pa nito.
