Coach Baldwin sa pamilya: Baterbonia "I'm deeply sorry"

Naglabas ng video kagabi ang Ateneo de Manila University, kung saan humihingi ng patawad si Ateneo Blue Eagles head coach Tab Baldwin sa pamilya ng mga naulila, mga tagahanga at sa lahat ng komunidad kaugnay ng pagkasawi ng hinahangaang basketbolistang sina Rene Baterbonia at Divine Adili mula sa pagkalunod sa isang resort sa Baler, Aurora noong Lunes.

"I felt I had failed. I failed as a leader. I felt I had failed as a coach. I certainly felt like I had failed as a friend to Divine and Rene.." please keep praying…I am so deeply sorry,” madamdaming wika ni Coach Baldwin.

Alam niya bilang coach ipinagkaloob sa kanya ng mga magulang ang tiwala upang mapangalagaan ang karera ng dalawang manlalaro.     

"I'm deeply sorry, If I could speak to Rene and Divine, but they are gone, we are left behind. We meant sorrow, the moment that I was told that the boys were passed away, we know that the family will never again touch their son. 

As a coach I lost my boys too, failed to help them to professional basketball, growing as young man, that I promise that I could do, I think that is significant that I could do the development of this young men growth as professional basketball players." 

Ikinalungkot din niya ang naramdaman ng napakaraming fans ni Baterbonia dahil sa inaasahan nilang hahangaan sa mundo ng professional basketball pero agarang binawian ng buhay.

Malungkot din niyang inaalala kasabay ng pagsasalarawan ng insidente nang biglaang pagtaas ng alon at hindi niya inaasahang mabibiktima ng pagkalunod ang dalawang rookie players ng Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles. "I prayed that we all fine, to comeback hope for the future, love for one another and forgiveness for a better outcome."
