Nakatakdang katawanin ng koponan ng Creamline Cool Smashers at ng Petro Gazz Angels ang Pilipinas sa darating na Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) Women's Champions League.
Ito ang inanunsiyo ni Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) vice president at Premier Volleyball League (PVL) president Ricky Palou. Dapat sana ay ang tatanghaling PVL 2024-25 All-Filipino Conference champion ang magiging kinatawan ng bansa sa torneo. Subalit dahil sa kanyang schedule nito ay hindi na kakayañing mahintay pa ang pagtatapos nito dahil sa Marso 12 na ang AVC draw.
Kaya naman nagdesisyon silang ang kasalukuyang nangungunang dalawang koponan na lamang sa preliminaries ang lalahok. "No more, because the AVC called us and said they need the teams right away. There's still a drawing of lots on March 12 so we cannot wait until the end of the tournament. We talked to the teams and we said after the (preliminary) round, the top two will represent the Philippines and that's Creamline and Petro Gazz," paliwanag ni Palou.
Bilang host, may pagkakataon ang Pilipinas na magkaroon ng dalawang koponan at tig-3 imports gaya ng iba pang mga bansang kalahok.
"Yes, (they accepted). We don't know what their plans are because they are entitled to three imports. But we don't know if they will get three imports, although Petro Gazz have (MJ) Phillips and Brooke (Van Sickle) they are considered as imports because they belong to the US federation, so they can still get one more. I don't know what the plans of Creamline are as of this time," wika pa ni Palou.
Ang AVC tournament ay nakatakdang ganapin sa Abril 20-27 sa PhilSports Arena sa Pasig City.
