Buking sa puslit na agri products… 10 flight crew, posibleng maharap sa disciplinary sanctions — PA

Maaaring maharap ang 10 flight crew members ng Philippine Airlines (PAL) sa disciplinary sanctions matapos na mahuling nagdala ng mga undeclared na mga prutas at gulay mula sa Riyadh at Dubai, ayon sa kumpanya.

Ayon sa Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI), batay na rin sa report ng GMA News, noong Enero 10, natagpuan ng Customs examiners sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1, ang 10 PAL crew members na may dalang mga sibuyas, lemons, at strawberries na mula sa naturang mga bansa.

Sinabi ng BPI, kailangan ng import permit at phytosanitary permit na dapat iprisinta kapag nagdadala ng mga agricultural items.

Gayunman, ang 10 flight crew members ay walang naipakita ng mga naturang dokumento.

Sinubukan umanong sirain ng mga crew members ang mga agricultural products nang malaman nila na ang mga ito ay kukumpiskahin.

Giit ng PAL, nagsasagawa na sila ng imbestigasyon hinggil sa insidente.

“We are investigating the incident involving ten crew members who were found to be carrying undeclared vegetables and fruits in their baggage after flying in from Riyadh and Dubai last January 10,” pahayag ni PAL spokesperson Ma. Cielo Villaluna sa isang statement.

“Philippine Airlines does not condone any violation of customs regulations. We will impose the appropriate disciplinary sanctions subject to the results of the investigations,” saad ng opisyal.

“We are fully cooperating with the Customs authorities on this matter. We reiterate to all our personnel the need to adhere strictly to customs regulations at all times,” sabi pa ni Villaluna.
