Pansamantalang sinuspinde ang mga flights papuntang Hong Kong mula sa India, Pakistan at Pilipinas nang dalawang linggo simula bukas, April 20, dahil sa N501Y mutant COVID-19 strain, ayon sa awtoridad.
Noong Linggo, nakapagtala ang Hong Kong ng 30 bagong kaso ng COVID-19 kung saan 29 diumano ang “imported cases.”
Saad ng pamahalaan ng Hong Kong, "It applied the criteria of the newly implemented place-specific flight suspension mechanism retrospectively for 14 days on places where there had been imported cases confirmed by arrival tests that carried the N501Y mutant strain.
"India, Pakistan, and the Philippines all had a seven-day cumulative number of relevant cases that reached the criteria in the past 14 days."
