372 naarestong foreign nationals, nakatakdang i-deport — BI

Nasa kabuuang 372 foreign nationals na naaresto sa magkakahiwalay na mga operasyon noong Setyembre, ang nakatakdang i-deport mula sa Pilipinas, ayon sa Bureau of Immigration (BI).


Sa isang statement, sinabi ni Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla na pina-finalize na ng BI ang arrangements para sa pagde-deport sa 331 Chinese nationals at 41 iba pang dayuhan na nadakip sa mga operasyon na isinagawa ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) at Philippine National Police (PNP) sa Pasig City at Angeles City noong nakaraang buwan.


Sa 372 foreigners, 43 sa mga ito ay nai-turnover na sa BI, habang ang natitirang iba pa ay nasa kustodiya pa rin ng arresting agency.


Ayon kay Remulla, ang Board of Commissioners ng BI ay nakapag-isyu na ng summary deportation order para sa kanilang lahat.


Base sa procedures ng BI, ang mga deportees ay dapat na walang pending case sa Pilipinas, at kailangang may valid travel document.


Sinabi naman ng BI na nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa NBI at sa Chinese Embassy para i-request ang pagre-release ng kinakailangang mga dokumento. Kapag nakumpleto na, ang kanilang departure o pag-alis ay maaari nang maiskedyul, kung saan ang gastos hinggil dito ay sasagutin mismo ng mga deportees.


Binanggit din ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco, ang visa cancellation ng 48,782 aliens na nagtatrabaho sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) na may mga canceled licenses.


“Upon receipt of the information from PAGCOR, we immediately started cross-checking their employees to determine which ones are still in the country,” pahayag ni Tansingco.

Ayon kay Tansingco, dahil may visa cancellation, inaatasan nito ang mga aliens o dayuhan na umalis na ng bansa sa loob ng 59 araw, sa halip na sila ay i-deport.


“This is the regular procedure for canceled visas, and this is actually more economical and faster, as the costs for their departure will be shouldered by the aliens themselves,” ani Tansingco.


“If they fail to leave, it is then that we initiate deportation proceedings,” dagdag niya.
