Vilma Santos-Recto.
“Kasi, ‘yung love team talaga, mabigat.
Kaya n’ya ginagawa ‘to, alam ko ‘yung gusto n’yang puntahan.
“So, parang that time, alam ko na pinaghihiwalay kami ni Vilma.
Puppy love kami.”
Saad ni Direk Bobot, “Three years.”
Kasi ‘yung The Sensations namin, inabutan ng martial law. After nu’n, natanggal ‘yung ABS-CBN, nawala.
“So, nalipat kami ng istasyon. Nagkaroon kami ng show.
Saad ni Myrtle, “It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my Lola Aleli Porlucas.
“She has always been one of my inspirations in pursuing a life filled with dreams. Growing up, she was one of the reasons why I learned how to play the piano, started singing, and why I started performing. My grandparents always loved seeing me on stage, but my Lola had a way of making me feel special long before I ever stepped onto one.
“Even at home, when I would make a huge mess while creating costumes and when I first started cosplaying over a decade ago — admittedly looking a little strange and doing something that many people still considered weird back then — I was always so lucky because she never made me feel that way. She never made me feel embarrassed for being different. Instead, she would support me, encourage me, and let me keep chasing the things that made me happy.
“She was always there, from my practices to my recitals, always one of the first to watch my TV shows, clip out newspaper articles of me, and cheer me on through every little milestone. She would wake up super early at 5 a.m. just to make sure we were well-fed.
“As a child, I thought those things were ordinary. Now that I’m older, I realize they never were. That was how she consistently showed her love.
“Looking back, before the stages, lights, and applause, there was already one person cheering for me from the very beginning.
“Thank you for loving me before I even knew who I would become. I love you so much, Lola. I know that you are with the Lord Jesus now, finally at peace in His loving embrace. Though our hearts are hurting here, I find comfort knowing that you are home with Him, surrounded by His love and grace. I pray that one day we will meet again, and until then, I know you’ll continue watching over us.
“I would also like to apologize to my community if I had to cut my meet-and-greet short at CODM Summer Fest. Thank you for understanding, and I’ll make it up to everyone in the next events.”
Sending our deepest condolences to you and your family on the passing of your grandmother, Myrtle.
‘Yun lang, and I thank you.
