Dumiretso sa tanggapan ng Homicide Division ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) sa Pasay City ang ilang staff ng resort sa Aurora kung saan umano nalunod ang dalawang Ateneo basketball players na sina Rene Baterbonia at Nigerian na si Divine Adili, bilang bahagi ng imbestigasyon.

May tatlo o mahigit pang persons of interest ang Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) kaugnay sa insidente ng pagkalunod sa dalawang miyembro ng Ateneo de Manila University basketball team sa Aurora.


Ayon kay CIDG Director Major General Robert Morico II, kabilang sa mga persons of interest ang ilang opisyal ng paaralan habang nagpapatuloy ang imbestigasyon upang matukoy ang posibleng kapabayaan na may kaugnayan sa trahedya.


Samantala, nagpalabas na rin ng subpoena ang CIDG laban sa ilang lokal na opisyal ng pamahalaan sa Aurora bilang bahagi ng mas malalim na pagsisiyasat sa insidente.

Bukod dito, pinadadalo rin sa imbestigasyon ang ilang empleyado ng resort kung saan naganap ang trahedya upang makatulong sa paghahanap ng hustisya.
