Hindi pinahintulutan ang pagpasok sa Pilipinas ng dalawang na-convict na Amerikanong sex offenders sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at ipinasundo sila sa kanilang mga port of origin, ayon sa Bureau of Immigration (BI) ngayong Linggo.
“We cannot allow our country to be a hub for sex tourism,” idineklara ni BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco.
“Foreign pedophiles are not welcome here, thus they will be turned away the moment they step on our airports,” paninigurado niya.
Tinukoy ni Tansingco ang dalawang Amerikano na registered sex offenders (RFOs) bilang sina Joseph Sami Sallaj, 30, at Eduardo Ison Balenbin, 72, na dumating sa Terminal 1 ng NAIA noong Enero 19 at 20.
“They were immediately sent back to their port of origin and placed in our blacklist to prevent them from entering the country should they attempt to return in the future,” aniya.
