122 Chinese vessels, naispatan sa WPS

Iniulat ng Philippine Navy nitong Martes na naispatan nila ang 122 sasakyang pandagat ng China malapit sa West Philippine Sea (WPS), sa kabila ng unilateral fishing ban ng China sa South China Sea (SCS).


Ayon sa Navy Spokesperson para sa WPS na si Commodore Roy Vincent Trinidad, kabilang sa ilang mga sasakyang pandagat ng China na nakita sa WPS mula Mayo 21 hanggang 27 ang mga sumusunod:


— Bajo de Masinloc - limang Chinese Coast Guard vessels (CCGVs), 14 Chinese maritime militia vessels (CMMVs)

— Ayungin Shoal - limang CCGVs, 17 CMMVs

— Pag-asa Island - isang CCGV, isang PLAN ship, 34 CMMVs

— Kota Island - isang CMMV

— Lawak Island - isang CMMV

— Panata Island - tatlong CMMVs

— Patag Island - dalawang CCGVs, dalawang CMMVs

— Sabina Shoal - dalawang CCGVs, apat na PLAN ships, 30 CMMVs


Gayunpaman, ipinunto ni Trinidad na hindi kinikilala ng Philippine Navy ang unilateral fishing moratorium ng China sa SCS, kasama na ang WPS.


“The Philippine Navy does not recognize this provocative statement nor will we be deterred in performing our mandate of securing the welfare of Filipinos wherever he/she is — on land or sea” pahayag ni Trinidad sa mga reporters.
