Aprubado na sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang Senate Bill No. 2212 o ang panukala na magtatatag ng regional specialty centers sa bansa.

Ang panukalang Regional Specialty Centers Act ay isa sa mga prayoridad ng Common Legislative Agenda of the Legislative-Executive Development Advisory Council (LEDAC).

“This bill is a shot in the arm of our public health system. To borrow a medical term, it is a major transfusion of resources to government hospitals in the regions, nearer to the sick who need affordable care,” wika ni Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, principal author at co-sponsor ng panukala.

Sa ilalim ng panukala, itatayo ang mga specialty centers sa ilalim ng Department of Health (DOH)-run hospitals sa ibang lugar sa bansa kabilang dito ang Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), Philippine Heart Center, Lung Center of the Philippines, at ang National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI).

Dahil dito, hindi na kailangang lumuwas pa sa Maynila ang mga pasyente mula sa mga probinsya para magpagamot ang mga may sakit sa baga, bato, puso, kanser at iba pa.

Samantala, lusot na rin sa ikatlo at huling pagbasa ang Trabaho para sa Bayan Bill at ang Estate Tax Amnesty.
