POC general assembly sususpendihin ang PNVF

Asahang papatawan ng suspensiyon ng Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) ang pamunuan ng Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) sa General Assembly sa Hunyo kasunod ng nakuhang parehong hatol mula sa International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) at napipintong pagtanggal ng suporta ng Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).
Inihayag ni national Olympic body head Atty. Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino na nakarating sa kanya mula sa liham ng FIVB ang suspensiyon ng PNVF, na pinabulaanan din ng Asian Volleyball Confederation dahil sa pag-alis nito ng suporta kay AVC president Ramon “Tats” Suzara, na siya namang dating pangulo ng federation.
Sinabi ni Tolentino na ang pagsususpinde ng POC sa PNVF ay naaayon sa nasasakupan nitong mga national sports association (NSA), dahil kinikilala ng POC ang mga pambansang pederasyon o mga hindi sumasalungat sa kanilang mga internasyonal na pederasyon. “The POC will abide by the decision of the IF,” pahayag ni Tolentino. “It’s their internal rules, but the POC will always be for the welfare of the athletes, their developmental program and the Olympic movement.”
Inilahad ng FIVB na agaran ang epekto ng umano’y suspensiyon sa PNVF, na pinamumunuan ni Tony Boy Liao, dulot umano ng; “decision follows serious governance concerns and multiple purported violations of the FIVB Code of Ethics which are currently under investigation by the independent FIVB Ethics Panel.”
Lumikha rin ang FIVB ng isang Ad Hoc Committee na; “ensure stability and proper governance during this suspension” and to “temporarily oversee the affairs of the PNVF in accordance with the FIVB General Regulations.”
Binubuo ang kumite ng limang FIVB officials na may sensitibong responsibilidad, maliban kay Alexa Dabao na siyang Legal Contractor sa Pilipinas ng FIVB. Nakatakdang humingi ng paglilinaw si Tolentino, pinuno rin ng cycling federation sa bansa mula sa FIVB sa konteksto ng pagkuha ng Ad Hoc Committee sa mga responsibilidad ng PNVF.
