Pahayag niya, “Our first instinct was to respond immediately, but we held back because we believed that the right thing to do was to let the proper investigation run its course.

“To let the science and evidence speak rather than to add to the noise and confusion. That is why we chose to stay quiet.”

Ipinakita niya ang findings ng isang pag-aaral mula sa University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman College of Science – Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology.

“These were done by scientists with no connection to the project,” dagdag niya, na tumutukoy sa March 2026 study na nagsasabing walang kinalaman ang proyekto nila sa pagbaha.

“Typhoon Tino dumped over a month’s worth of rainfall on Cebu in one single day. And that amount of water would have flooded those areas regardless of what was or was not built,” paliwanag niya.

“The science does not just say we did not cause the flooding. It says that the systems we have built in place help reduce it,” dagdag pa niya.

“We want to express our sincerest condolences to everyone who has lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods,” sabi niya.

Diin niya, “That tragedy was real, and it deserved real answers, not speculation, not misinformation.”

“We respect everyone’s right to their own opinion,” ani Slater.

Pahabol niya, “But we will not stay silent in the face of deliberate misinformation. And we

will take all the necessary steps to protect our family from it.”

“Alam naman natin dito sa ‘Pinas, ‘pag sinabing ‘according to the experts,’ it’s more like magkano ang ibinayad nila sa mga ‘experts’.

“Basic knowledge that cutting trees and denuding mountains and forests contribute to flooding. Pakilabas ang link ng study na sinasabi mo so we can all validate their independence and competence.”

“Let the basic elementary science speak: Tree roots act like ‘anchors’ that hold soil in place. Without roots, rain can wash the soil away, leading to floods and landslides.

“Quite good scientific gaslighting, huh?”

“Better the independent body should be the one to explain their findings to avoid possible statement bias.”

“Hugas-kamay ‘yan? ‘Di ka man lang naawa sa mga namatayan, ano’ng klaseng accountability ‘to? Todo-sorry pero wala raw silang kasalanan? Kalokohan!”

Ano’ng sey n’yo, mga Ka-BULGAR?
