Nanawagan si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa mga Pilipino na mamuhay nang may integridad para sa bansa sa pagpapahayag niya ng kanyang pakikiisa sa mga Pilipinong Muslim sa pagsisimula ng banal na buwan ng Ramadan.
Sa isang mensahe na inilabas nitong Linggo, sinabi ni Duterte na ang buwang ito ay panahon para maranasan at matamasa ng mga Muslim ang awa ng Allah.
"Similar to how the period of fasting ends with feasting, it is my hope that all your efforts for discipline and reflection will be rewarded with revelations as well as a deeper connection with Allah," ani Duterte.
"May this occasion likewise allow the teachings of the Qur'an to take precedence over all your decisions -- even the smallest ones. Let the enlightenment that comes with your contemplation lead you to live with integrity for yourselves and for the nation, especially now when it is needed most," dagdag niya.
Nagsimula ang holy Islamic month ng Ramadan nitong Linggo, April 3, at magtatapos sa Eid'l Fitr holiday. Ito ay panahon ng spiritual reflection sa pamamagitan ng pagdarasal, pag-aayuno, at pag-iwas sa "makasalanang pag-uugali."
