Panimula ni Connor sa kanyang post, "After careful and thorough consideration, we have decided to share additional information regarding the adultery charges that have been brought against Maggie and me in the Philippines by her estranged husband Victor Sid Blanco Consunji, after he conceived a child while married, with myself being identified as the alleged paramour. This decision may prompt questions for many, and I believe providing a formal context for our actions and intentions is essential.

"It is important to highlight a significant and concerning aspect of the legal landscape in the Philippines, namely, that adultery charges can only be filed by men against women and not vice-versa. This legal framework starkly contrasts international efforts to uphold women's human rights. In 2012, the United Nations Women's Working Group issued a joint statement asserting that criminalizing adultery infringes upon women's fundamental rights. Several countries, including India in 2018, Taiwan in 2020, and South Korea in 2015, have recognized the need to reform such laws and have taken steps to abolish them. Regrettably, the Philippines remains among the very few countries that continue to impose of up to six years of imprisonment for this offense.

"Furthermore, it is noteworthy that the adultery law in the Philippines, a legal legacy of Spanish colonial rule, was abolished in Spain itself in 1978. The historical contract emphasizes how imperative it is for the Philippines to reevaluate and modernize its legal framework, aligning it with international standards and contemporary values prioritizing all individuals' right and dignity, regardless of gender. The persistence of such antiquated laws in the Philippines starkly contrasts the evolving legal landscape in other nations and underscores the urgency of reform."

Pagtatapos ng post niya, "In the forthcoming months, I will share various aspects of our case already in the public domain and how easy it is for your husband to charge you.

Additionally, I will underscore our active support from the United Nations and other global advocates who share our conviction that these antiquated and invasive laws, which perpetuate the oppression and discrimination of women, must be reformed in the Philippines."
