Sa isang jewellery store sa Surat, India may mga ibinebentang face masks na napapalibutan ng diamonds na nagkakahalaga ng Rs 4 lakh o mahigit P250,000.
Matagal nang nagbebenta at nagma-manufacture ng mga face mask ang tindahan na gawa sa ginto, silver, diamonds at American diamonds, simula pa ng pandemya. Ang masks ay layered ng alahas na may iba’t ibang patterns.
Ayon kay Deepak Choksi, may-ari ng jewelry store, nagkaroon siya ng ideya nang may mag-order sa kanyang customer na face mask na napapalibutan ng alahas.
“A customer came to our showroom recently and bought jewellery for his wedding that is scheduled in the near future. He also asked us to make a mask for him that he will wear during the ceremony at the mandap. We discussed the plan with our designer and he selected a mask, and also purchased it after we customized it for him,” sabi ni Deepak Choksi.
Kapag gawa sa ginto ang face mask, na may American diamonds, ang halaga nito ay Rs 1.5 lakh o higit P98,000 kada isa. Ang gold and white gold masks na set ng diamonds, ay ibinebenta ng Rs 4 lakh o higit P262,000 each.
Sabi pa ni Deepak Choksi, maaaring gamiting necklace at bracelet ang alahas na galing sa masks sakaling matapos na ang pandemya at hindi na isusuot pa ang facemask.
“We have gold and American diamond masks that are gold for Rs 1.5 lakh each. The highest range is of white and yellow gold masks, studded with diamonds, that are sold for Rs 4 lakh each. N-95 masks have been used to make it. Masks are washable. People should look at it like an investment. In the future, you can make a necklace, and other jewellery with the jewels from the masks. You can reuse it,” dagdag pa niya.
