Pangungunahan ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang paghuli sa mga illegal distributors ng Ivermectin, ayon sa babala ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque ngayong araw, Abril 21.
Aniya, "To ensure the safety and welfare of the public and at the same time avoid any unnecessary conflicts, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been directed to take the lead in determining the course of action against the illegal trading/dispensing of Ivermectin."
Ayon naman sa Department of Health (DOH), kasong paglabag sa Republic Act 9711 o The FDA Act of 2009 ang isasampa sa mga mahuhuling gagamit ng Ivermectin nang walang compassionate special permit (CSP).
Sa ngayon ay kasalukuyan pang isinasailalim sa clinical trial test ang veterinary product na Ivermectin, kung saan matatandaang ginamit ito nina dating Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile at kasalukuyang Senate President Tito Sotto. Dalawang ospital na rin ang inaprubahan sa paggamit nito dahil sa isinumite nilang CSP.
