Suspendido nang 6 na buwan ang certification to operate at pinagmulta rin ng P10,000 dahil sa quarantine violation ng Department of Tourism (DOT) ang City Garden Grand Hotel (CGGH) sa Makati City na pinagdausan ng party ng namatay na flight attendant na si Christine Dacera at mga kaibigan nito noong Bagong Taon.
Ayon sa DOT, ang naturang hotel “was found to have misrepresented itself to the public as being allowed to accommodate guests for leisure or staycation purposes despite being a quarantine facility.”
Sa Administrative Order No. 2020-002-C ng DOT, nakapaloob na hindi maaaring tumanggap ng mga guests para sa leisure purposes ang mga hotel na ginagamit bilang quarantine facilities.
Paglilinaw naman ng DOT, "CGGH has the right to appeal within the period prescribed by the DOT rules and regulations.”
