FEU Lady Booters, bagong reyna ng UAAP Football

Tinanggalan ng korona ng Far Eastern University ang De La Salle University nang gapiin nito ang huli, 2-1 sa UAAP Season 85 women's football tournament finals sa Rizal Memorial Track ang Football Stadium sa Manila.

Mahigit 90 minuto ang ginugol ng magkabilang panig bago tuluyang namayani ang Lady Tamaraws sa extra time. Dahil sa panalo, nakumpleto ng FEU ang dominasyon sa football ngayong season. Nauna ng tinalo ng Tamaraws ang Ateneo de Manila, 4-1 sa finals upang tanghaling men's champion habang iginupo naman ng Baby Tamaraws ang De La Salle- Zobel 2-1 sa finals ng juniors division.

"Our players never gave up," pahayag ni FEU coach Let Dimzon. "Even when we played against La Salle during the first round and they had a big lead, we still kept fighting, and the same in our last game during the second round." "That's the highlight of my team—until it's over, they never give up. Considering that most of La Salle's players come from the youth national team and my players don't have that much experience, but the way they work on the field is commendable," dagdag pa nito.

Ito na ang ika-12 titulo ng Lady Tamaraws sa women's division. Nakumpleto rin ng Lady Tams ang ikatlong triple championship ng FEU sa UAAP football matapos itala ang naunang dalawa noong Seasons 76 at 77. Si Rebosura ang itinanghal na Rookie of the Year at Best Midfielder habang si Angelica Teves ng De La Salle- ang napiling Best Striker makaraang magtala ng walong goals. Hinirang naman ang University of the Philippines duo nina Frances Caroline Acelo at Jennifer Baroin bilang Best Goalkeeper at Best Defender, ayon sa pagkakasunod.
