Chinese medicine, inaprubahan ng FDA

Inaprubahan ng Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ang traditional Chinese medicine na tinatawag na Lianhua Qingwen.

Ang Lianhua Qingwen ay ginagamit sa China bilang panggamot sa COVID-19 mild to moderate cases. Ito diumano ay “traditionally used herbal product [that] helps remove heat-toxin invasion of the lungs, including symptoms such as fever, aversion to cold, muscle soreness, stuffy and runny nose.”

Saad ng Chinese Embassy, “It is our sincere hope that its entrance into the Philippine market will contribute to the fight against the spread of COVID-19 in this country and help the patients with mild and moderate symptoms recover.”

Samantala, ayon kay FDA director-general Eric Domingo, ang mga resgistered Lianhua Qingwen capsule na aprubado ay mayroong labelling requirements ng FDA at nasusulat sa Ingles. Nagbabala rin ang FDA sa pagbili ng mga unregistered version ng naturang gamot na mayroong ibang labels na nakalagay.
