Itinalaga na bilang bagong Speaker of the House of Representatives si Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco ngayong Lunes.
Nakuha ni Velasco ang boto ng 186 mula sa 299 kongresista. Ginanap ang eleksiyon sa Celebrity Sports Plaza sa Quezon City dahil sarado ang House Plenary Session hanggang Nobyembre 16.
Ilan sa mga bumoto kay Velasco ay sina dating Deputy Speaker Mikee Romero, Rizal Representative Michael John "Jack" Duavit, Oriental Mindoro Representative Salvador Leachon, Ilocos Sur Representative Kristine Singsong-Meehon, Negros Occidental Representative Kiko Benitez, Zamboanga Del Sur Representative Divina Grace Yu, Navotas City Representative John Reynald Tiangco, Albay Representative Joey Salceda, at Maguindanao Representative Esmael Mangudadatu.
Pinangunahan ni Deputy Speaker Conrado Estrella III ang session habang si Pampanga Representative Juan Pablo “Rimpy” Bondoc naman ang naging majority floor leader.
