Bagong K to 12 curriculum, ilalabas – VP Sara

Maglalabas ang Department of Education (DepEd) ng bagong basic education curriculum kasunod ng patuloy na pagre-review ng K to 12 Basic Education program, pahayag ni Vice President at DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte.

Ayon kay VP Sara, natapos na ng ahensiya ang pagre-review para sa K to 10 curriculum habang nagpapatuloy pa rin ang pagre-review para sa Grade 11-12.

“We’re actually done with the review. We are currently presenting, we initially presented it to the Mancom, Execom and we will present it to other sectors from the government and the private sector as well,” pahayag ni VP Sara sa mga mambabatas ng House Appropriations Committee sa ginanap na budget briefing ng ahensiya ngayong Miyerkules.

“We are currently starting with the review on Grades 11-12 and it will go through the same process, it will go through presentations so that comments and suggestions from all the sectors can be collated by the Department of Education and we come up with the new curriculum for the K to 12 program,” saad pa niya.

Gayunman, ipinaliwanag ni VP Sara na aabutin ito ng 2-3 taon para sa anumang mga pagbabago saka ito paiiralin.

“During our discussions, it will take 2-3 years for us to implement a new curriculum for the K to 12. I was and I am trying to push the curriculum and instruction strand to do it in 1 year. We will update you on that if we will be able to implement a new curriculum in a year or two, we’re talking about academic school year,” giit ni VP Sara.

Layong palakasin ang basic education curriculum, mandato ng K to 12 sa mga Pilipino na dapat kumpletuhin ang anim na taon sa grade school, apat na taon sa junior high school, at dalawang taon sa senior high school, kung saan ibinasura naman ang dating 10-taon basic education system (anim na taon sa grade school at apat na taon sa high school) ng bansa.

Matatandaan na ipinatupad sa panahon ng administrasyon ng yumaong dating Pangulong Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III ang K to 12 curriculum, habang isinailalim ito sa pagre-review sa nakalipas na dalawang taon. Una itong in-introduce noong 2011.
