NBA player Embiid, nanguna sa fundraising para sa frontline health care

Pinangunahan ni Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid ang pag-establisa ng funding campaign para sa COVID-19 antibody testing para sa frontline healthcare workers mula sa Penn Medicine.

“As Philadelphia prepares to cope with the spread of COVID-19, my heart goes out to all of the doctors and nurses who put themselves at risk of infection in order to help those in need,” saad ni Embiid. “If the doctors and nurses get sick, then there is no one to help the rest of us who might get really sick over the next month.”

Nag-donate din si Philadelphia Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie ng $1-M upang maitatag ang COVID-19 Immunology Defense Fund.

Sa nakaraang dalawang linggo, nag-researched si Embiid ng pinakamabisang paraan upang masugpo ang coronavirus pandemic. Agad siyang nag-donate ng $500,000 bilang pansuporta sa medical relief efforts tulad ng pagbibigay ng personal protective equipment (PPE) na kinukulang na sa buong Estados Unidos.
