Sasabak sa crossover o exhibition fight si Floyd?

Iminungkahi ni Dana White na baka sumabak si Floyd Mayweather, Jr., sa isang crossover fight laban sa UFC fighter ngayong 2020, pero nag-uusap pa silang dalawa sa anumang plano ng boksingero sa bakbakan.

Target ng UFC chief na magkaroon ang mamang itim ng autumn fight, na kung saan si White din ang nangasiwa sa 2017 showdown sa pagitan nina Mayweather at Conor McGregor.

Bagamat alanganin si White sa crossover concept, mahirap naman para American na gawin ang isang bagay kung wala namang interes ang isa.

“The easiest way to explain it to you is Floyd and I both feel that we add value to each other, and we’re going to figure something out,” saad ni White sa ESPN.

“Some things have to play out, and then I’m going to start talking to (Mayweather’s promoter Al) Hayman maybe this summer and then I’ll have

something for Floyd in the fall.”

Nang tanungin kung ano ang plano ni Mayweather, aniya, “Compete. The money is in Floyd competing.”

Sa paliwanag niya hinggil sa plano para sa posibleng crossover fight sa huling bahagi ng taon na ito, idinagdag ni White na:

“We’ll see. We can do some crossover stuff here, or we can do something in boxing. “Our last experience, Floyd was actually pretty easy to deal with.

Haymon is incredible to deal with. Floyd and I got a handshake deal at the basketball game, and we’ll get the rest figured out.

“I don’t love them (crossover fights). … But when the demand is there. I felt the demand for McGregor vs. Mayweather, felt it, I knew it would be big, so we started talking. “Then once I started to really feel it, that’s when I started to take it serious, and I made an offer. … It will be interesting to see if we start to see that kind of demand again with any kind of crossover fight.”

Retirado na si Mayweather sa boksing mula 2017 nang talunin niya si McGregor sa bisa ng technical knockout, pero ilang ulit ding nagbalik sa ring. Hawak niya ang perpektong record, sumabak at nagwagi sa 50 mga laban mula nang magbalik professional fights noong 1996.
