BANARIO, HINDI SASAYANGIN ANG 2ND CHANCE SA LIGHTWEIGHT

MAGBABALIK si Team Lakay Honorio ‘The Rock” Banario sa Mall of Asia Arena sa Agosto 2 upang harapin si Timofey Nastyukhin sa semifinals ng ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix sa ONE: Dawn of Heroes.

Na-eliminate si Banario mula sa torneo nang mabigo siya kay Lowen Tynanes dahil sa tikas ng huli sa wrestling at groundwork sa ONE: Hero’s Ascent. Na-knockout si Banario sa unang round nang pumlakda siyang pakrus sa mat kaya umabanse si Tynanes sa semifinal round.

Sa hindi inaasahan, dumanas si Tynanes ng matinding back injury sa gitna ng ensayo laban sana kay Nastyukhin at napuwersa na siyang umatras sa torneo. Ito ang nagbigay daan sa dating world champion na sumabak sa ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix. Si Tynanes ang ikalawang bumagsak dahil sa injury sa torneo. “I’m truly grateful to be given this second chance at the Grand Prix by ONE Championship,” saad ni Banario. “Opportunities like these in the world of martial arts are diamonds in the rough and this is definitely something that I will not allow to pass me by. It’s truly unfortunate about what happened to Ariel [Sexton] and Lowen [Tynanes] and I wish for their fast recovery.”
