PAANO NA ‘YAN? DURANT HINDI LALARO SA GAME 1

NAGPA-ABISO na ang Golden State Warriors na hindi makalalaro si forward Kevin Durant sa opening game ng NBA Finals laban sa Toronto Raptors sa Biyernes dahil pa rin sa pamamaga ng binti, ayon kay coach Steve Kerr kahapon.

Na-injured ang kanang binti ni Durant noong Mayo 8 sa Game 5 ng Western Conference Finals kontra Houston Rockets. “KD’s not playing Game 1,” saad ni Kerr matapos ang praktis noong Lunes.

“I think we already announced that, and we’ll see where it goes from here. This is where the fact that there’s a lot of days in between games during the finals helps us, so we’ll see.”

Sinabi ni Kerr na hindi pa nila alam kung makabi­biyahe si Durant patungong Toronto para makapaglaro sa Warriors dahil aalis na ngayong araw ang team. Pero sinabi niya na pipilitin daw ni Durant na mailarga ang sarili ngunit hindi lamang ito nakapagpapraktis. “He’s been out kinda shooting some shots, but I haven’t talked to (trainer) Rick (Celebrini) today, so I’m not exactly sure what he’s done today.”

Sinabi rin ni Kerr na may inilabas ding listahan ang injured center na may iniinda sa quadriceps si DeMarcus Cousins at “questionable” raw ito.

Napunitan ng litid si Cousins sa quad muscle sa kaliwang binti noong Game 2 sa first round ng playoffs kontra sa Los Angeles Clippers noong Abril 15.

Subalit hindi na ito na­nga­ngailangan ng operasyon. (MC)
