EXPOSURE SA INVT’L TOURNEY PAKAY NG AHEDRES PILIPINAS

MULA sa tagumpay ng inaugural rapid chess team tournament noong Mayo 12, plano ng Ahedres Pilipinas na magdaos ng marami pang torneo ngayong taon.

Una na sa kalendaryo ng Ahedres Pilipinas ang International Invitational Tournament upang matulungan ang iba pang local players na magkaroon ng exposure at mapagkalooban ng dagdag na international ratings.

“Ahedres Pilipinas is looking at a bigger picture now, lalo na at natapos na ang matagumpay na torneo noong Linggo,” ayon kay Ahedres Pilipinas founder WIM Christy Laniel Bernales sa 22nd ‘Usapang Sports’ ng Tabloid Organizations in Philippine Sports (TOPS) sa National Press Club sa Intramuros noong Mayo 16.

“The turnout for our Ahedres Pilipinas Rapid Chess Team Tournament held last May 12 at the Alphaland Southgate Mall is really very encouraging. Maraming sumali at maganda ang mga games,” ani Bernales, na kasama sa weekly forum si fellow organizer Christian Anthony Flores. “We’re now hoping to hold more tournaments in the coming months with the help of our friends,” ani Bernales, veteran ng World Chess Olympiad noong 2008 Dresden, 2014 Tromso at 2016 Baku.

Idinagdag ni Bernales na umaasa ang Ahedres Pilipinas na makakuha ng dagdag na ayuda sa sponsors upang mapanatili ang year-long developmental program.
