KASUNDUAN AT PAGKAKAISA, ASAM SA LIDERATO NG KARATEDO

BUKAS-PALAD ang Philippine Karatedo Federation para sa pagkakaisa at ikabubuti ng marami.

Ayon ito kay three-time SEA Games gold medalist Gret­chen Malalad sa kanyang pagsasalita sa 20th “Usapang Sports” ng Tabloids Organization in Philippine Sports (TOPS) sa National Press Club sa Intramuros.

“We need to unite now and put our differences behind with the 30th SEA Games fast approaching,” pakiusap ni Malalad.

Si Malalad ang itinalagang bagong PKF president ng may 230 clubs at asosasyon sa buong bansa sa isang halalan sa FisherMall, Quezon City noong Peb. 17. At aniya, hi­ni­kayat na rin ng Philippine Olympic Commit­tee (POC) ang lahat ng karate stakeholders na lumahok sa “unifying election not later than October this year,” ayon sa three-time Southeast Asian Games gold medalist noong 2001, 2003 at 2005 at bronze medalist sa Asian Games noong 2002.

Isang win-win solution na rin ang inihain ni Malalad kay Karate Philippines president Richard Lim at maging kay PSC Commissioner Ramon Fernandez.

We all want to be united. We’re all karatekas. Lets do this for our sport and country,” dagdag ng 39-anyos na pride ng Boac, Marinduque. Nang tanungin siya hinggil sa desisyon na pangunahan ang PKF sa Disyembre.
