FIDE ASIAN ZONE, SASABAKAN NI MICIANO SA MONGOLIA

PINAKABAGONG miyembro ng Go-for-Gold ang isa sa mga guest sa 15th Tabloids Organiza­tion in Philippine Sports ‘Usapang Sports’ Huwebes si Asian Youth 18-under Chess champion Marvin Miciano na sasabak sa FIDE Asian zone 3.3 cham­pionships sa Abril 6-16, 2019 na gaganapin sa Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

“Well honestly, I think by now most of the people naman know na ‘yung background namin and chess actually was not sa background namin, but it so happened na I got a Facebook message from Marvin’s dad, si Juanito, and then he explained to me the role of his son and ‘yung mga resulta and then parang sabi namin this looks like something that we would like to support because for a few reason,” nabanggit ni Go for Gold founder Jeremy Go kung paano napasama si Miciano bilang isa sa kanilang benefactor.

Napabilib si Go sa husay ng paglalaro ni Miciano sa chess kaya hindi na ito nag-alinlangan na tulungan ang 18-year-old chess player. “Number one, he is the youngest IM (international master) in the country or in Davao, and we always want to help inspire our youth,” giit pa ni Go.

Puspusan na rin ang paghahanda ni Miciano sa kanyang nalalapit na laban sa Mongolia kung saan ay nakikipag-train ito kasama ang ibang IM sa bansa.

“Sa akin po kasi makakuha lang po ako ng experience dahil ang mga kalaban ko po sobrang experienced po. Marami po silang suporta. I will just do my best to play and exceed the expectations,” sambit ni Miciano. Kagaya ng ibang chess players, isa rin sa mga pangarap ni Miciano ang makamit ang Grandmaster (GM) title.

“Target ko po (GM), mga 20 years old, kung ako po step by step, every tournament, every game, tapos bonus na lang po ‘yung GM dahil yung target ko po kasi is do your best, believe in what you do and in what you believe,” pagtatapos ni Miciano. (MC)
