TAEKWONDO PALALAKASIN SA GRASSROOTS PARA IHANDA SA 2019 PHL SEA GAMES


DAHIL ang taek­won­do ay certified me­dal producer at upang mapa­natili ang magan­dang imahe sa 2019 South­­east Asian Games na gagawin sa ‘Pinas, si­­nabi ni Philippine Taek­wondo Association sec­retary general Monsour del Rosario na kailangang palakasin ang grass­roots sa pamamagitan ng ma­lawakang programa para makatuklas ng ma­gagaling na atleta.

“The association is banking on this program saturating every nook of the country to flush out young potential athletes.

We have many ta­lents in the countryside and the only way to tap their potentials conduc­ting many tournaments,” pahayag ni Del Rosario.

Ayon kay Del Rosa­rio ang taekwondo ay isa sa mga National Sports Associations na may pinakamaraming miyembro sa iba’t-ibang clubs sa bansa at akti­bong naglalaro sa mga torneo.

“Hindi ko masabi ang exact bilang kasapi sa PTA. I can proudly say taekwondo is one of the NSAs with big num­ber of members,” sabi ng 53-anyos na Seoul Olym­pian.

Ang Pinoy aniya ay may likas na galing sa taekwondo at laging nag-uuwi nang kara­ngalan sa mga inter­na­tional tournaments ka­sama ang SEA Games, Asian Games at Asian Taekwondo.

Delegation head si Del Rosario sa Asian Indoor Games at Mar­tial Arts na ginawa sa Turkmenistan na pinag­wagian ng dalawang martial artists na sina Annie Ramirez at Fili­pino-Brazilian Marga­ret Ochoa.

Nanalo ang women at men poomsae teams ng bronze sa nakaraang Asian Games sa Indo­nesia.
