2 pinuno ng NPA, nasawi sa Leyte

Nasawi ang dalawang pinuno ng New People's Army sa isang engkuwentro ngayong Sabado sa Barangay Tinag-an, Albuera, Leyte.

Kinilala ni Brig. Gen. Noel Vestuir ng 802nd Infantry Brigade ang mga namatay na sina Rolando Caballera, isang high-value target, at si Crispolo Agunos Jr., isang miyembro ng Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee.

Sinabi ni Vestuir na namatay ang mga rebelde sa isang sagpuang tumagal ng 15 minuto sa 93rd Infantry Battalion matapos na mag-ulat ang mga sibilyan na may presensiya ng NPA sa lugar.

"The death of these two notorious NPA terrorists is a result of the firm resolve and commitment of our people to prevent the recovery efforts of the remnants of IC-LEVOX in their community. Through the timely information provided by some residents, we have pinpointed the area where these terrorists hide. Indeed, we attain the situation that the people are inhospitable to these NPA terrorists," ani Vestuir.

Hinimok niya ang mga pamilya ng mga namatay na NPA na kunin ang kanilang mga labi kapag natapos na ang proseso ng pagkilala sa mga bangkay upang mabigyan sila ng maayos na libing.
