2,000 COVID tests kada araw sa unang molecular lab sa Zamboanga

Opisyal nang binuksan ng Philippine Red Cross (PRC) ang kauna-unahang molecular laboratory na kayang magsagawa ng 2,000 COVID tests kada araw na matatagpuan sa Pettit Barracks, Zamboanga City, Mindanao.


"It is our responsibility to get ourselves tested for COVID-19, you can literally kill others if you are a carrier of the virus. Getting yourself tested and taking care of yourself is tantamount to taking care of your loved ones and others in your community,” sabi ni PRC Chairman at CEO Sen. Richard Gordon.


Sa naturang lugar inilagay ang ika-20 laboratoryo ng bansa sa layong madaling matatanggap ang mga testing samples na ginawa at agad na malalaman ang resulta nito mula sa kalapit na lalawigan gaya ng BaSulTa (Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi), ang Zamboanga Peninsula, Dapitan, Dipolog at Pagadian.


Sa ibinigay na suporta ng International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), naipatayo ang Zamboanga City molecular laboratory na maituturing na may state of the art na kagamitan sa pagsusuri kabilang dito ang isang RNA extractor, dalawang PCR machines, dalawang biosafety cabinets at tatlong biomedical freezers.
