128 patients served anew under PCSO’s free medical, dental mission in Alabang

Muntinlupa City – The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) conducted free medical and dental mission in Alabang, benefiting a total of 128 patients from The Haven National Center for Women and Marillac Hills National Training School for Girls on June 20, 2023.

Out of the total number of patients who availed of the program, 83 received medical consultations, 36 underwent dental check-ups, including tooth extraction, and nine requested electrocardiograms.

The National Training School for Girls is a center that provides residential care and rehabilitation to minor girls ages 7-17 years old who are survivors of sexual abuse, human trafficking, and children in conflict with the law, while The Haven for Women, which is under the supervision of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, provides temporary protective custody and other services that provides healing and recovery to women survivors of abuse along with their dependents, eighteen (18) to fifty-nine (59) years old.

Catherine Taleño, social welfare officer III of The Haven for Women, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the two institutions. “We would like to say thank you to PCSO most especially to GM Mel Robles and his officials for conducting free medical and dental check-up for our residents. Napakalaking bagay po nito para sa amin lalong-lalo na po sa mga bata. Nawa’y magtuloy-tuloy ang magandang partnership po natin sa PCSO,” she said.

The PCSO Medical team, together with director Jennifer Liongson-Guevarra, was led by Dr. Rouel Aparato of the Medical Services Department.
