Pasay City naglagay ng tent para sa mga stranded na LSI’s

Ginamit ng Pasay City government ang paaralan ng Villamor Airbase Elementary School (VABES) upang magtayo ng mga tent para sa mga na-stranded na locally stranded individuals (LSI’s) sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) dahil nakansela ang mga flight nito papunta sa probinsiya.

Sinabi ni Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano sa mga pasahero na kumpirmahin muna ng mga ito ang kanilang flight bago pumunta sa airport at para naman sa mga airline companies ay gumawa ng Help Desk para sa mga LSI’s upang malaman ng mga ito kung kanselado o kalian ulit sila puwedeng magpa-schedule.

Sinabi ni Rubiano na, “I am reiterating my appeal to our kababayans who are going to their home provinces to please confirm first your flights before you proceed to the NAIA and you should come here to the airport only on the day of your confirmed flights,”

“You should ensure these people’s basic provisions and accommodations in the event of cancellation or re-scheduling of their flights and put up help desks that would assist them on what they should do as they wait the re-scheduling and confirmation of their flights to their provinces,” dagdag pa nito

Nitong Linggo, Hulyo 5, ay umabot na 256 ang LSI’s sa Villamor Airbase Elementary School (VABES) na patungo sa Bacolod, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, General Santos City at Cebu sa pamamagitan ng Air Asia and Cebu Pacific.

Sinabi nito na, “We at the Pasay LGU together with the national government agencies particularly the Department of Interiors and Local Government (DILG) and the civic organizations have been exerting all efforts to help them,”

Naglagay ng 20 na tent ang gobyerno ng Pasay sa VABES, ang bawat isang tent ay may walong katao at sinusunod nito ang social distancing at ginamit din ang ilang mga silid-aralan para sa mga ito.

Katuwang ng gobyerno ng Pasay ang national agencies, civic organizations at Barangay 813 sa pagbibigay ng pagkain at iba pang pangangailangan ng mga na-stranded na pasahero.

Sinabi ni Rubiano na pinauwi nila ng mahigit 771 LSI’s nitong Hunyo 17, sa tulong ng mga national agencies, DILG at ng Department of Transportation (DOTR).
