Labing-isang container van na naglalaman ng mga piyesa na tinatayang nagkakahalaga ng P29.65 milyon galing China ang nasabat ng Bureau of Customs sa Batangas.
Sa pag-iinspeksiyon ng Bureau of Customs, napag-alamang naglalaman ang mga van ng cone crusher, sand washing machine, feeder, low voltage power distribution, counters, cable, mantle, concave, ball tile, cone head, sealing, pressure ring, pressure cap, lock bolt, spring seat, bolts, locking cylinder, protective cylinder, jaw crusher, screen, conveyor, hopper, steel frames, discharge hopper, jaw plates, lining plates, toggle, v-belts, toggle seat, foundry weight, tension rods, springs and screen mesh - mga piyesa sa paggawa ng steel prefab frame at crusher machine”.
“All these parts when assembled would be a working crusher machine,” sabi ni District Collector Ma. Rhea Gregorio.
Ang mga nakumpiskang piyesa ay dumating sa Batangas noong Agosto 11, 2020 mula Shanghai, China at ipinadala sa Merchamps Empire Ltd. Co. na pinroseso ni licensed Customs Broker Daryl Santos.
Matapos magsagawa ng spot-check examination, kung saan nadiskubre ang laman ng mga kargamento, nagsagawa agad ang mga kinauukulan ng Alert Order para mapigilan ang pagdating ng iba pang piyesa noong August 18, 2020.
Naglabas ng Warrant of Seizure and Detention ang mga kinauukulan dahil sa paglabag nito sa Section 1400 “Misdeclaration, Misclassification, and Undervaluation in Goods Declaration” kaakibat ng Section 1113 “Property Subject Seizure and Forfeiture” of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act.
