Ayon kay Department of Justice (DOJ) spokesperson Polo Martinez, kasama rin sina dating Department of Public Works and Highways Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo, dating regional director Gerard Opulencia, at dating Bulacan district engineer Henry Alcantara sa Precautionary Hold Departure Order.
“The court found probable cause to believe that respondents will depart from the Philippines to evade arrest. So the court ordered the Commissioner for the Bureau of Immigration to hold the departure of these five individuals and to include them in the hold departure list,” pahayag ni Martinez.
“By the term precautionary, it means that before the case is formally filed in court, the judge or the Branch 52 of the RTC Manila of the order anticipating that the respondents in these plunder cases pending before the DOJ may evade arrest,” dagdag ni Martinez.
