Grupo ng health workers: Kakulangan sa COVID-19 data reporting, ayusin

Nanawagan ang isang grupo ng healthcare workers na solusyonan ang anila'y kakulangan sa sistema ng pagre-report ng datos ng COVID-19.


Ayon sa Healthcare Professionals Alliance Against COVID-19 (HPAAC), naniniwala silang hindi repleksiyon ng mga numero ang totoong nangyayari, sa harap ng pagpapatupad ng pilot implementation ng alert level at granular lockdown sa NCR.


"Based on this premise, we are inclined to believe that the proposed scheme, which claims to use pandemic severity and healthcare utilization data in deciding the alert level, does not reflect the true situation on the ground. We therefore strongly urge the government to acknowledge and address the inadequacies of our data reporting system that forms the basis for the alert levels," anila sa pahayag.


Matatandaang naging sukatan ng pilot implementation ng alert level at granular lockdown sa NCR ang kalagayan ng mga ospital at bilang ng mga nagkakasakit.


Kabilang sa nais masolusyonan ng grupo ang datos sa mga emergency room na hindi naisasama sa tala ng ward bed at ICU utilization.


Depensa naman ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, "’Pag tinignan natin 'yung dati nilang capacity, hindi na 'yan ang capacity nila. Meron na ring ERs setups sa labas na naka-tent na lang po. May mga triage areas at ito ang ating pinag-aaralan maigi kung paano tayo makakapag-set ng standard metric so that we can be able to measure and analyze itong ER occupancy in all of our hospitals.”


Samantala, abot sa 16,000 hanggang 43,000 kaso ng COVID-19 kada araw ang nakikita ng Department of Health sa Metro Manila pagsapit ng katapusan ng Setyembre.
