Itinalaga ni Pope Francis si Cardinal Jose Advincula ng Capiz bilang bagong arsobispo ng Archdiocese of Manila ngayong Huwebes. Ika-33 arsobispo na si Advincula ng Maynila at si Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle na isa nang prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples ang kanyang pinalitan.


Simula noong Pebrero, 2020 ay walang arsobispo ang Maynila kaya itinalaga ni Pope Francis si Manila Auxiliary Bishop Broderick Pabillo bilang apostolic administrator ng archdiocese.


Noon namang Nobyembre, 2020, itinalaga ni Pope Francis bilang cardinal si Advincula. Isinilang si Advincula sa Dumalig, Capiz at naordinahan bilang pari noong 1976.
