Cease and desist order ng NTC, walang direktang epekto sa mga empleyado ng ABS-CBN — DOLE

May paalala ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) sa pamunuan ng ABS-CBN Corporation kasunod ng inilabas na cease and desist order ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) dito.

Ayon kay Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, hindi dapat magkaroon ng epekto sa employment ng mga manggagawa nito ang inilabas na cease and desist order ng kumpanya.

Paliwanag ni Bello mayroon pa namang mga legal na remedyo na maaaring gawin ang kumpanya.

“The issuance of the cease and desist order does not have immediate impact on the employment of its employees. It does not automatically extinguish the corporate existence of any company. Legal remedies are available. Employees shall continue to be employed," pahayag ni Bello.

Giit pa ng kalihim, nananatili pa ring entitled ang mga empleyado ng ABS-CBN sa mga batas paggawa.

Umaasa rin si Bello na mareresolba ang problema ng ABS-CBN batay sa mga umiiral na batas at rules and regulations sa bansa.

"We trust that this issue will be resolved based on applicable laws, rules and regulations.Paramount is the protection of the rights and the promotion of the welfare of all workers, particularly those of ABS-CBN," pahayag pa ni Bello.

Tinatayang aabot sa 11 libong manggagawa ng kumpanya ang maaaring mawalan ng trabaho kung hindi mare-renew ang prangkisa nito.
