Inulan ng pambabatikos ang tweet ni Sen. Tito Sotto sa kasag­sagan ng pag-aalburoto ng Taal Volcano.

Say ni Sen. Tito, “Now is the time for cloud seeding in the Taal Volcano affected areas!”

Ang cloud seeding ay isang pro­seso para makalikha ng ulan. Ito ang naisip ni Sen. Sot­to na makakatulong sa mga lubos na naapektuhan ng ashfall.

Ayon pa sa ulat ng ABS-CBN News, sabi ni Sen. Sotto, “I’m proposing cloud seeding action in the Taal Volcano affected areas and not wait for the rain. Water solves the ashfall debris.”

Pero hindi sinang-ayunan ng mga ne­tizens ang proposal ni Tito Sen at sa halip ay binatikos pa siya dahil sa kakulangan daw sa kaalaman.

“No. You’re clearly proposing an acid rain / lahar scenario. Repeating 1991?”

“You clearly don’t understand the science between rain and volcanic materials.”

“The volcanic ashes are already seeding the clouds. The other problem is since the ash contains sulfur the resulting rain is ACID RAIN.”

Maging ang mga eksperto ay hindi rin sang-ayon sa ideya ng cloud seeding sa ka­sagsagan ng pagbuga ng abo ng Taal Volcano.

Ayon sa ibinahagi ng director for research ng UP Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology na si Dr. Gerry Bagtasa sa One News, hindi advisable na magsagawa ng cloud seeding sa mismong lugar kung saan nag-aalburoto ang bulkan dahil sa banta ng lahar at destructive mud flow.

Ayon din kay Philippine Institute of Vol­canology and Seismology Director Renato Solidum, hindi best solution ang pagsasagawa ng cloud seeding.

“If you look at it closely, obviously, if there is too much water, it will wash down the ash on the side, and there is a threat of a flood or lahar because it is washing down the ash.”

Tila buwelta naman sa sandamakmak na bashing ang mga sumunod na tweets ni Sen. Sotto.

Aniya, “We should stop finding faults and people to blame. Let’s just help and pray more!”

Sa next tweet naman, sey ni Sen. Sotto, “ASUNGOT- defined as Good For Nothing Fault Finders.”

Sa totoo lang, hindi na nakakapagtaka na ma-bash ang mga matataas na opis­yales lalo na ang mga mambabatas dahil sa mga ‘palpak’ nilang resolusyon.

Hindi matatabunan ng simpleng ‘sorry’ lang ang anumang panganib na maaaring idulot ng kanilang padalus-dalos na su­hestiyon o ideya kung hindi muna pag-aaralan bago gawin.
