Itinalagang special economic envoy to OIC.. Nur Misuari, pasok sa team Duterte

Itinalaga ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) Chairman Nur Misuari bilang Special Economic Envoy on Islamic Affairs to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) na ikalawa sa pinakamalaking inter-governmental body kasunod ng United Nations.

“I do not think that there is [any] other Moro personality that could command the respect and trust of the OIC but only you,” sabi ng pangulo kay Misuari sa isinagawang pulong kahapon sa Davao City, batay sa inilabas na pahayag ng Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process.

Nagpulong ang Punong Ehekutibo at si Misuari kasama ang mga miyembro ng government peace panel at Peace Coordinating Committee kaugnay sa nalalabing commitments sa Tripartite Review Process (TRP) ng 1996 Final Peace Agreement.

Ayon kay P-Duterte, kilalang malapit si Misuari na noo’y instructor sa University of the Philippines sa mga OIC leader.

Giit ng Pangulo, makatutulong si Misuari na humaba pa ang maayos na ugnayan ng bansa sa mga lider ng Islamic countries at makamit ang matatag na kapayapaan sa Mindanao.

“Consider it as an honor for me to delegate you as special envoy of the government so that you can foster further lasting relationships with the leaders of the Islamic countries,” wika pa ni P-Duterte.

“At least, before I step down, I want to see an enduring peace in Mindanao,” pahayag pa ng Chief Executive sa iba pang miyembro ng Peace Coordinating Committee.

Hinimok pa ng Pangulo si Misuari na tulungan ang gobyerno na kumbinsihin ang mga Moro na Kongresista na suportahan ang isinusulong ng administrasyon na pagpapalit ng porma ng gobyerno tungo sa Federalismo.
