HD SPIKERS, IMPRESIBO SA PSL; FAJARDO AT POGOY, BALIK-GILAS

INILATAG ng Cignal ang impresibong laro laban sa Generika-Ayala, 25-15, 17-25, 25-18, 25-22 sa quarterfinals ng Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference kagabi sa Ynares Sports Arena sa Pasig City.

Malakas na laro ang ipinakita ni Filipino-American setter Alohi Robins-Hardy para sa HD Spiker, na may 16 blocks upang sumampa sa semifinals ng prestihiyosong women’s club league.

Haharapin ng HD Spikers ang Petron habang ang F2 Logistics at Foton ay naghihintay sa pagitan ng labanan ng F2 Logistics at Sta. Lucia sa semifinals ng torneo simula sa Martes sa Muntinlupa Sports Center.

“We had enough preparation for this round and I told them that our fate is in our hands. They really gave everything,” ayon kay Cignal head coach Edgar Barroga. Samantala, bagama’t kalaban pa nina June Mar Fajardo, RR Pogoy at Troy Rosario ang pagod sa nagdaang PBA finals, babalik na ang tatlo para sa praktis ng Gilas Pilipinas bilang paghahanda sa FIBA World Cup.

Sinabi ni coach Yeng Guiao na ang trio ang bubuo sa final 12 at malaking problema kung maghahabol sila sa chemistry ng national team. “More or less, they have slots. They’re shoo-ins. My problem is not making the decision on whether they’re in or not. My problem is trying to jell them with only a week to go after that. That’s really the problem,” pag-aalala ni Guiao.

Ang trio at ang injured na si Marcio Lassiter ay absent pa noong Huwebes sa Meralco Gym. Naroon sina Andray Blatche, Robert Bolick, Kiefer Ravena, CJ Perez, Paul Lee, Matthew Wright, Mark Barroca, Gabe Norwood, Beau Belga, Raymond Almazan, Poy Erram at Japeth Aguilar.
