PORMAL nang inen­dorso ni Pa­ngu­long Rodrigo Duterte si Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano bilang su­su­nod na Speaker ng House of Representatives.

Sinabi ng pangulo na tuloy din ang term-sharing sa pa­gitan nina Cayetano at Marinduque Rep. Lord Al­lan Velasco habang uupo na­man bilang majority leader si Leyte Rep. Martin Ro­mual­dez na isa rin sa mga kandidato sa pagka-Speaker.

“I was talking to three people. I think it’s about time I talk. So, your Speaker will be Alan Peter Cayetano. Ang sharing dito is he shares the term with Lord Velasco. And si Romualdez will be the Majority Floor Leader,” ani Duterte sa kanyang talum­pati sa Malacañang sa oath-taking ng mga bagong tala­gang opisyal ng gobyerno.

Nabatid na 15 buwan na pamunuan ni Cayetano ang Kamara habang 21 bu­wan naman si Velasco.

Sinabi naman ni Presi­dential Spokesman Salvador Panelo na nagkasundo ang tatlong kandidato na humi­ngi ng tulong kay Pangulong Duterte upang magka­sundo.

“Since the election of the Speaker has resulted in a bitter and fractious rivalry that threatens the break-up of political allies, the Pre­sident, to save the unity of the alliance and avert its frag­mentation, obliged to the re­quest of the three candi­dates, who to their credit agree to respect the choice of PRRD,” paliwanag ni Panelo.

Matatandaang, inihayag ng Punong Ehekutibo na hin­di siya makikisawsaw sa naturang isyu at sinabi rin niya na si dating House Spea­ker Gloria Macapagal-Ar­royo na lamang ang pipili ng susunod na lider ng Kamara o kaya naman ay maglabu-labo na lamang ang mga ito.
